About the club, in their own words: Formed in 1973, the club is run by its membership, which is drawn from all ages and abilities from juniors as young as 10 years of age right through to the senior members, some of whom are well in excess of 60 years of age!

The club runs five teams in the South Wales leagues. The first team is out of the top draw, having just finished second in Premier League 1 in South Wales, which is the top league in Wales. This represents our best ever performance in our forty years of history! Our top player is in the world top 200, while our numbers two and three, players, both born and bred in Abergavenny, are currently ranked at ten and eleven in Wales. Our second and third teams play in the South Wales leagues, and our fourth and fifth teams also play competitively within the Gwent leagues. In addition, we have a ladies and a junior section under development.

Club and match sessions for all the membership take place on various Mondays to Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. from September to mid-April, with rotas in place to ensure that everybody gets at least 30 to 45 minutes of squash at the level he/she wants. Every Saturday throughout the year, a Junior Coaching session takes place from 11:30 a.m. for 45 minutes. This is organised by a qualified Squash Wales coach who is a member of the club, and this is preceded by a club membership session which runs from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. across two courts.

Subscriptions commence at around £75 per year; new members are always very welcome, so why not come along to a club session and see if you like it! It will only cost you an initial £3 a session, with a maximum of four sessions, all of which is redeemable should you subsequently join the club.
