Jiwan Gahunia, a 66 year old stalwart of Abergavenny Squash Club recently completed his climb of Mount Kilimanjaro in support of St David’s Hospice Care. Kilimanjaro is the highest peak in Africa at an altitude of 5,895 metres above sea level.
Jiwan was supported ably by none other than Gwent Squash Rackets Association Treasurer, Peter Sturgess. Peter and Jiwan recently visited St David’s Hospice to present them with a cheque for £663.25.
St David’s provides bespoke individual palliative care for all its patients and their families during the most difficult times of their lives. They aim to ensure patients have a choice about the care they receive that helps them maintain their dignity throughout their final journey.
Its not too late to recognise Jiwan’s fantastic achievement! If you feel you are able to support Jiwan and Peter in their remarkable endeavour, please visit their Just Giving page. Jiwan and Peter and more importantly, St David’s Hospice, would appreciate any and all donations and sponsorship no matter how small.
