Jiwan Gahunia, a 66 year old stalwart of Abergavenny Squash Club aims to raise money and awareness for St David’s Hospice Care by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro this November. Kilimanjaro is the highest peak in Africa at an altitude of 5,895 metres above sea level.

Jiwan will be ably supported in his endeavours by none other than Gwent Squash Rackets Association Treasurer, Peter Sturgess, who is organising Jiwan’s itinerary and ensuring everything is in place for the arduous trek to the summit.

St David’s provides bespoke  individual palliative care for all its patients and their families during the most difficult times of their lives. They aim to ensure patients have a choice about the care they receive that helps them maintain their dignity throughout  their final journey.

If you feel you are able to support Jiwan and Peter in their remarkable endeavour, please visit their Just Giving page. Jiwan and Peter and more importantly, St David’s Hospice, would appreciate any and all donations and sponsorship no matter how small.

If you feel it appropriate, you may want to print this poster and display it on your club notice board.

Thanks for swinging by and taking the time to read of Jiwan’s and Peter’s fantastic efforts. More of Jiwan’s itinerary can be found here.
